What is Danforth Wireless?
Danforth Wireless partners with Bay Area businesses to expand cellular coverage for major networks. We install a small, unobtrusive device that improves cell service for your customers while earning you passive monthly income.
How does it work?
Our technicians install a pre-configured hotspot device at your business for free. It creates a secure cellular signal that T-Mobile and AT&T phones connect to automatically. You get paid based on the amount of data usage the device processes.
What's the catch?
There is no catch. Major carriers need to densify their networks in high-traffic areas but building cell towers is expensive and difficult. By hosting a small cell (hotspot) in your business, you help them offload traffic and improve coverage, and they share the revenue with us, which we share with you.
What areas do you serve?
We currently offer free installation services throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. This includes San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, and surrounding cities. If you're outside this area, please contact us to discuss availability.
How does installation work?
Once approved, our professional technicians will schedule a convenient time to visit your business. Installation typically takes 15-30 minutes, and we handle everything — you don't need to do anything technical.
Will this interfere with my existing WiFi?
No. It runs completely separate from your internal network and does not affect your business WiFi performance.
Does it slow down my internet?
The device uses a minimal amount of bandwidth. We recommend a connection with at least 100Mbps download speed. The data traffic is prioritized so it won't impact your point-of-sale systems or guest WiFi significantly. If it does, simply unplug.
What about internet security?
The Helium Hotspot operates as a separate, secure network, similar to a guest Wi-Fi network, but without requiring password management for the business. It does not store personal data or provide anyone access to the business's internal network, functioning more like a mini cell tower that securely transmits data from mobile devices to the internet.
My business already has free Wi-Fi, so this isn't needed.
The hotspot improves coverage for major mobile carriers (like AT&T and T-Mobile) and their customers, not the business's existing Wi-Fi. This allows customers with those carriers to have better service without needing to connect to the business's Wi-Fi network as this happens automatically. Save time by not having to be provide for your WiFi password and focus on what matters.
How big is the device?
The device is small and sleek, similar in size to a standard WiFi router. Our technicians will find the optimal placement — it can be placed on a shelf, mounted on a wall, or tucked away near a window.
How much can I earn?
Earnings vary based on location and data usage. Typical hosts earn between $50 and $500+ per month. High-traffic areas with poor existing signal tend to earn the most.
How do I get paid?
We pay via direct deposit (ACH), Venmo, or Zelle on a monthly basis
